When is the divorce filed in court?
Answer:
Once a formal agreement has been reached, drafted and signed by both parties, legal proceedings are filed with the Court. Both parties then appear before a judge to obtain the Court’s approval of the agreement.
Note: Matters discussed in the process of arriving at an agreement are confidential and background information is not included with the agreement for the Court’s approval.
