Mediation
Question:
What is Mediation?
Answer:
Once a filing has occurred with the Court, if the parties cannot agree on specific issues, mediation may occur with an individual licensed as a court-approved mediator. During mediation, attorneys are not required to be present. Once an agreement through medication has occurred, it is submitted to the Court for approval.
Unlike a Collaborative Law Agreement, which is a process that takes place to reach an agreement prior to any court filing, mediation occurs after a case has already been filed and has progressed through the court system.
