Question:

What are the rights of grandparents for visitation after divorce?

Answer:

Grandparents’ rights flow through the parents.

A grandparent can work out time with the grandchild by scheduling it with the grandchild’s parents. In most cases, that works out fine.

If, however, the grandparents’ own son/daughter does not want little Johnny to see Grandma, then Grandma has no avenue to petition the family court for visitation.
