Daryn R. Barker is named for her Uncle Darren, a creative liberty for a female that saw her listed as “male” on every school year’s initial roll. Daryn earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of South Carolina. After college, she worked with foster children at Epworth Children’s Home in Columbia, South Carolina before returning to school to pursue her Juris Doctor.

Daryn received her Juris Doctor and Children’s Law Certificate from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she was honored as the recipient of the South Carolina Bar Foundation’s prestigious I.M. Goldberg Award for her demonstrated commitment to family law. While in school, Daryn served as an Editor of the Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Journal, an extern to the Honorable Judge Dorothy Mobley Jones of the Richland County Family Court, and a volunteer Guardian ad Litem.

She has received the Client Distinction Award from Martindale-Hubbell for three consecutive years, winning a Gold distinction in 2023. This honor is earned by less than 1% of attorneys and based on amazing client reviews! In 2022 and 2023, Daryn was recognized as Legal Elite in Family Law by Charleston Business Magazine, Columbia Business Monthly, and Greenville Business Magazine.

Daryn has a passion for helping others and works with determination to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients.

Daryn lives with her husband on John’s Island, where they enjoy the water with fishing, kayaking, and bird watching. In their spare time, they enjoy traveling and exploring the sights and foods of other countries.
